Harshita and Vashita were found in identical baskets outside the gates of Aarti Home early one morning. They two young girls were left there as soon as they were born with no contact details and no way of finding out who they belonged to.

However, their time at Aarti Home has been fruitful. Harshi and Vashi, as they are playfully called, have grown inseparable; one is rarely without the other! Two little balls of energy, they’re always smiling and laughing and are a constant source of entertainment and laughter to their peers.

When I asked them if I could photograph them, they didn’t stand apart. Instead, they wrapped each other in a warm hug and beamed at the camera.
