Protection: The Heart of Aarti
At Aarti, protection is not just a program; it's the very foundation of our care, whether within the vibrant community of Aarti Village or through the loving support of our family-based care network
For girls who have nowhere else to turn – often facing unimaginable hardship like being orphaned or escaping domestic abuse – Aarti Village is a true home. Within our sustainable, green campus, 125 girls live as sisters in small cottages, each guided by a dedicated house mother who fosters a loving family unit. Here, they find not only safety and comfort but also the unconditional love that empowers them to heal and dream of a brighter future. The deep familial bonds they forge at Aarti Village create a lifelong sense of unity and belonging that stays with them as they grow into nurses, engineers, artists, and mothers. Aarti remains their cherished home, a place they return to celebrate life's milestones, a testament to the enduring love and connection they found here.

Brought to Aarti Home at the tender age of two by her uncle after the tragic murder of her mother, Bhanu's early world was marked by profound loss. However, within the nurturing embrace of the Aarti community, she discovered not just shelter but a loving family and boundless opportunities to flourish. Despite facing challenges, including initial academic hurdles, Bhanu's strong will and the unwavering support of her Aarti family empowered her to overcome them. With a growing passion for biology and a vibrant involvement in extracurricular activities, she now actively pursues her dream of becoming a doctor, a testament to the life-affirming haven Aarti Home provides for young girls to build a future filled with hope and strength.
Family Based Care
Nurturing Dreams Within a Mother's Love
Witnessing the dreams nurtured within Aarti Village, we recognized the urgent need to reach children still living with their families but facing neglect, abuse, or the threat of child marriage and labor due to poverty.
In 2018, our Family Based Care program was born. Here, we provide crucial support for education, nutrition, and basic necessities, enabling children to stay within the love and security of their own homes.
Our social workers become regular visitors, working to build children’s dreams and providing the necessary scaffolding – both financial and emotional – to ensure they can experience the safety of home and the simple joys of childhood, including the irreplaceable love and support of their mothers and siblings.
Through a carefully designed five-step process, we strive to break the cycle of hunger, abuse, and addiction, ensuring these vulnerable children have the chance to thrive.
Life At Aarti Village
Aarti is not an institution but a living home where children can be just themselves.

Always Being There
One of the first children to join Aarti Home, Bharati got married in 2005 and now lives with her husband’s family in Kerala. She is actively involved in their family business. Aarti Home will always be the maternal home for Bharati from where she gets emotional and maternal support. Not just Bharati, all the girls who have moved away are always welcome at Aarti.

Healthcare
Most of our committee members are established doctors in the town. They are available at all times and generously provide general medical care and support to our children. We have an in-house psychologist who provides constant counselling for children who have been deeply traumatised.

Living Arrangements and Schedules
Girls at Aarti live in different blocks of a two-story house where they eat, learn, play and sleep. They are cared for 24/7 by full time staff in the home. Every morning, the children practise yoga in the garden guided by a yoga master. They play and study in the evenings after school. On weekends, they watch movies, read, or play games.

Bonding with the Children
We form strong bonds with all the children making them an important part of our big family. Each child has a unique personality and is treated according to their individual needs. We firmly believe that this approach will help erase memories of their painful past and instil a deeper sense of security. This also enables better integration of new children into the Aarti family.
