With her innate love for children and a deep desire to create a better world through education, Lilly has been supporting Aarti for Girls over the past year, towards educating girls and making social and gender equity a reality, Lilly made her cinematic debut in the 2016 documentary ‘A Trip to Unicorn Island’, which documented her 27-city tour. Her visit served as a reminder of the transformational potential of community support and education.

Children are naturally attracted to Lilly, who got involved with the community as soon as she arrived at Kadapa, strengthening her yearlong strong bond with Aarti for Girls. She spoke with some of the alumni and their testimonies emphasized the deep influence of Ms Sandhya Puchalapalli and Aarti for Girls. She was happy to see the environment-friendly initiatives adopted at Aarti Village, making it a net zero campus, as well as Sandhya Puchalapalli’s presentation about Aarti’s journey, achievements, challenges and future ambitions and goals.

A natural magnet Lilly spread joy, love and happiness to everyone she met. During her stay at Aarti Village, she observed firsthand the commitment of everyone involved in the day-to-day activities associated with the education and care of girls. She spent time with the kids, singing and dancing to nursery rhymes with Kindergarteners. In the dining hall, she appreciated the efforts of the school, the cooks and the staff in designing an age-appropriate healthy and nutritious diet. She also spoke with the director and other team members of Aarti School, getting to know the challenges faced and the successes achieved. It also highlights the importance of education in influencing the future and the link between education and mental health. A warm reception and a tour of the bustling AWC market greeted her at the Aarti Women's Centre, demonstrating Kadapa's strong sense of community. Women artisans thoughtfully gave Lilly handcrafted farewell gifts.
Aarti’s vision which aligns with Lilly’s mission is to create safe spaces for girls, sensitize boys towards gender equality at an early age, educate girls in fostering long-lasting change and empower women to become agents of change. Her visit to Kadapa was more than just a tour; it was an immersion into Aarti’s continuous effort, involvement and dedication to creating a brighter future for everyone.
