Our story
“To be orphaned is acceptable, but to be abandoned is heartbreaking”
- Sowbhagya, One of our Aarti Child
Aarti began in 1992 when our founder Sandhya took Rani (name changed) under her wings, a two year old girl abandoned on the roadside by her father. Today, Rani is a confident young lady with a career in healthcare. We soon realised that behind every abandoned girl was a mother ill-equipped to protect her. This made us re-examine our approach, from addressing the problems to solving the underlying issues.
Today Aarti works with both the children and mothers, providing shelter for the abandoned girls, and schooling for underprivileged children so that they have a chance to live and thrive. Our pride are our alumni, confident young women strongly rooted in their values, successfully managing careers in diverse fields along with a happy family life. Love, security, guidance and opportunity has enabled them to blossom.
Our Goal: INR 45,00,000 to Transform the Lives of 125 Girls Through Education
Your contribution supports school fees, books, stationery, uniforms, breakfast and lunch, hygiene kits, footwear, transportation to and from school, and care provided by a social worker.
